Climate Action

Week 2027

Building a collaborative space to enable climate action in Ahmedabad

The extreme heat reality

Ahmedabad is one of the world's most heat-stressed and least climate-resilient cities. It wrote South Asia's first Heat Action Plan in 2013, yet peak summers still brush 48°C and the urban heat island adds up to 5°C more in dense wards. The next decade of adaptation will be decided street by street — not in conference halls.

A city that learns to outlive the heat.

Building Ground-Up Resilience

Ahmedabad Climate Action Week (ACAW), taking place 22-24 January 2027, marks Ahmedabad's first platform dedicated to catalyzing local climate action. Anchored in the city's own experience of extreme heat and rapid urban change, ACAW brings together citizens, institutions, and local innovators to build climate resilience from the ground up.

Ground-up decentralisation

Ahmedabad Climate Action Week 2027 (ACAW) is not a single centralised conference. It is a citywide week where local actors — schools, pols, institutes, enterprises, citizen groups — host their own events in their own neighbourhoods. The platform curates, connects and amplifies; the city does the rest.

Our Mandate

Build Resilience Together

We believe climate resilience is built together. Whether you're an organisation, institution, innovator, or engaged citizen, there's a place for you at Ahmedabad Climate Action Week. We warmly invite you to partner with us in shaping this platform, or join us in the conversations and actions that will define Ahmedabad's climate future. This is a space we're building collectively — and we'd love to build it with you.

Our Focus

Four Themes for ACAW 2027

Our theme for this year is structured around interconnected themes, driving tangible, ground-up implementation for a resilient Ahmedabad. We welcome any emerging areas as core need for the city. Please write to us.
